Sometimes you put up with things like a small room and a slow elevator because you love the hotel's Beaux Arts exterior. Or you deal with the fact there's a shower-over-tub and the hot water takes forever to come because it's an 1850s farmhouse B&B. Those are "period ambience" and "rustic charm". (I've done both.) Port Angeles's sad, run-down buildings with false promises in their advertising don't deserve such euphemisms.
