For work I updated to a new MBP 14" with the M1 Pro chip in late 2021. It's obviously way faster than the 2017 MBP it replaced, although I think with the workload I run that's as much from doubling the RAM of the older one (32GB RAM now vs. 16GB). The new/old scissor keyboard is also a treat. I never thought the butterfly keyboard used in the late teens was bad until I switched back from it to a scissor keyboard again. What an improvement.

My work MBP has an SD card slot. That's not a solution for my photography, though, because it's company property. I refuse to do any personal work on it. Like, I don't even check news headlines on it while waiting for video calls to start. I pull out my personal phone or laptop for that.
