The moving business is like a bad joke. It's filled with so many scammers, clowns, and fly-by-night companies. There are good movers out there, but they're hard to find among all the rotten ones. The one time we hired our own movers years ago we got a recommendation from our realtor. They did a fine job and they were fast. ...And because they were fast, they were inexpensive (charging by the hour).
