At Marriott the status levels for many years were Silver, Gold, and Platinum. When they "enhanced" (industry code-speak for watered down) their program a few years ago they added a new level to the top and called it Titanium. At least they're staying with the theme of metallic elements. Hilton has Silver, Gold, and Diamond elite levels. Mixing metals and minerals in the same chart is a faux pas.
