I make a pretty decent salary for a teacher (around 60k/yr, I <3 my union) but I'm in a pretty high cost of living part of the country, so I am very thankful to my tech-worker roommate who's making closer to 100k/yr, since they help subsidize the lifestyle to which I am accustomed (having a place to live and buying groceries).
