While I appreciate your admins may well say or do a lot of boneheaded things, nothing about that particular statement strikes me as incompetent. They're saying the same thing that Gov. Newsom said in his tweet— that multiple tragedies happened in such rapid succession that they couldn't finish responding to one before the next occurred.
