Homer Plessy

I didn't know Homer Plessy was interred in New Orleans! I'll have to visit the next time I'm there. I give thanks for Homer and the others who banded together to fight segregation in New Orleans. As you probably know, before the Plessy case, a Chinese family in San Francisco fought to have their daughter admitted to a white school. They lost in the courts, too. I admire the courage these plaintiffs had. They lost the battle but paved the way for us to win the war, generations later. I'm not sure I would have found the courage to do what they did.

How disappointing the museums you wanted to visit were closed. :-( Their websites should at least mention when they're going to close early. Glad you found a worthwhile alternative.
