Yes, the old table matches the paint quite nicely. That's no accident! When we moved back from L.A. years ago we decided it was time to replace some of our cheaper furniture (we still had a few pieces of grad student-quality stuff) and also paint over the all-white interior our house came with. As we shopped around for furniture we really liked the reddish-brown finish and bought several pieces in that tone. Then, when we painted, we picked a reddish-brown paint as our accent color for the banisters. Painting those rails was a pain. But looking at the pics of old vs. new reminds me how satisfied I was with the effort.
