By the time it was over and we'd packed away the ladders and we all agreed it was time to go back inside, it felt late. It was only 6:30pm. (Dang early winter sunset.)
Later last night and again at various times today I've thought more about the situation. It's sad. The guy died in his own house. He collapsed on the stairs. We don't know how long he was there before the police arrived to make the welfare check. Clearly someone noticed he wasn't where he was supposed to be. But was he there for a few hours, a day, a week, or longer?
