That's an interesting wrinkle in time. My company had a commuter benefit for a year or two around 2019, and rideshares were NOT permitted as part of it at that time. Our commuter benefit was discontinued during the pandemic and did not return afterward. My sense across industry is that many companies left commuter benefits in the dustbin of history as work shifted to remote and employees become more motivated by benefits other than commuting stipends.
