The issue of invasive predators brings up a species that has my interest--cats. Feral cat populations have been very destructive for many places they have been introduced, such as Hawaii. (And also the Galapagos, which we visited a number of years back.) We have always believed that cats should be indoor-only pets, but from what I see on imported media the Brits seem to think indoor/outdoor is the way for them to live.
I associate NZ more with British culture than anywhere else, and I wonder what their attitude toward cats is?
