Hallowwhen?
When I was at the grocery store today I noticed Halloween displays in full bloom. I was like, Hallowwhen? The holiday is still nearly 6 weeks away! And this isn't even the first time I've seen Halloween candy, etc. on display. In-store displays started popping up a few weeks ago.
Look, I get it that Retailers Gonna Retail. We've all come to accept that they rush from flogging one holiday to the next in feverish hope of getting us constantly to buy more. Basically once "Buy food for your Labor Day cookout!!!!" became yesterday's news they rolled out the Halloween promotions.
Thinking about how to buy or make a Halloween costume now, I can understand. It can take a while to pull together. But the grocery and drug stores I'm talking about aren't selling costumes, they're selling candy. It's way too early for that. Anything you buy now will likely be stale by October 31!
