Florida Bound, Finally

Florida Trip Travelog #4
39,000' over... IDK, Indiana? Wed, 21 Sep 2022, 9:30am

We are finally en route to Florida. Finally. After a flying trainwreck last night we spent the night in Chicago Midway airport. I got no sleep, Hawk got maybe 1-2 hours. This morning we boarded our rebooked flight to Tampa. It left on time.

At the moment we are part way to Tampa, Florida, currently over Indiana. Of course, Tampa isn't actually where we planned to go. We booked to Ft. Myers, 140 miles south. But Tampa is where we could find the best availability on rebooking without losing most of the day to travel, so we'll fly to Tampa and then drive to Ft. Myers.

Still TBD is where and when our luggage will arrive. An agent at Midway said it'll be sent on the first flight to Ft. Myers. We'll see later today if that's actually happened. I really hope I don't have to spend the entire vacation chasing that bag as it flies around the country... or sits forgotten in a pile somewhere.
