I compared the low-end Pro to the Air when I considered whether to upgrade 16 months ago. When I chose similar specs, the only differences being the the SD card slot (which I want) and slightly more weight (which I don't want), the Pro was, like, $300 more expensive. I don't care about whatever else in the Pro justifies that cost difference. I'm hard pressed to see it anyway.

For $300 I figured I could hold on a year longer... which came and passed last Fall when Apple didn't materially update the Air. So now I'm holding on to see if I can last through late this year, when a major Air update is rumored. If the Air doesn't come back with an SD card slot at that point— I'm hoping it will since they already re-added it to the Pro— then I'll reassess which model is better for me.
