Here it is October and already I've renewed my elite status on Southwest Airlines— both A-List Preferred and Companion Pass. This is the earliest in the year I recall completing the requirements. Actually I managed to renew them weeks ago!

A-List Preferred, requiring 70,000 qualifying points, I notched back in late August with that rubber-band business trip to Phoenix.

Companion Pass, which needs 135,000 qualifying points (and they're different qualifying points than A+ status 🙄), I notched while I was on vacation in North Carolina. It wasn't even flying that put me over the top; it was a bonus I earned from credit card related activity.

Getting both of these proved easier than I anticipated months ago. Back in January I made a plan I wasn't even certain would succeed. I pushed it hard through the first 6 months of the year to get most of the way to my goals. It got easier in the second half of the year as business travel started to pick back up. Not that I'm drowning in business travel, but quick trips here, there, and elsewhere are adding up.

My next challenge will be to spend all the points I've earned achieving these status levels!
