It's sad that crackpot Sen. Rand Paul comes up as the first thought for "STEM graduate in the Senate" a scant 10 minutes after I posted, as if to serve as a counterexample warning that STEM people are prone to be crackpots. Most Congresspeople have law backgrounds. So does Attorney General Bill Barr. Hmm, let's fill the Senate with more like him, shall we? Or maybe more business people. Jared Kushner and Steve Bannon are proud of earning MBAs and the mindset of running the country more like a business, let's fill the Senate with MBAs. All bad ideas? How about a humble BA in humanities? Like President One-Term Failure himself.
