Apparently, Kenmore appliances are re-branded ones from other manufacturers. I just found out our washer/dryer is a re-branded Whirlpool, for instance. (Hopefully the repair person can get it to stop squeaking.)

Safeway has several different house brands. Their "Signature Select" is pretty standard stuff; the quality seems to be just a bit below the national brands in most cases but lower cost. Their "O Organics" line seems to be comparable to the national brand for the one thing I've bought repeatedly (Turbinado sugar) and lower cost. "Lucerne" is for their dairy products. As far as I can tell, milk is milk and the brand name doesn't make much difference. They also have "Value Corner" for a few things, like butter and paper towels. I get the butter because it's just fine and is cheaper, but paper towels are something I definitely notice differences in and it's not worth the price difference to me.
