Easy Weekend, Busy 4½ Days at Work
Jun. 7th, 2021 09:02 amThis was an easy weekend. No flying/driving/hiking trips, no last minute cancelling of flying/driving/hiking trips, no Let's-drive-8-hours-to-go-car-shopping, etc. Just staying around home and no shopping. ...Well, okay, I did one shopping trip, but it was for $20 of groceries at a nearby store on the way home from lunch out Saturday. We also got out for a hike on Sunday at one of our local haunts, Byxbee Park in the Palo Alto baylands.
As peaceful as this weekend was, this week at work stands to be a bit more hectic. It's a shortened week for me, just 4½ days, as we're leaving on Friday afternoon for 10 days on the east coast. This is the trip we had to cancel and reschedule three times last year because of Coronavirus! We're looking forward to going, finally. But between now & then, though, we've got to get our work done. Leaving early on Friday means there's a bit of extra pressure to finish things earlier this week. Fortunately it does not mean having to do next week's work, too. My team, at least, understands I will be out next week and is not expecting me to start or finish tasks during that time. It's literally not time off from work if you still have to do all the work!
