I _definitely_ hear you on the "coming home early" thing. In fact, I've done that just now --took a red-eye flight home from Sacramento (by way of Seattle) last night, took transit home, slept for about an hour and a half...and got up at noon to work on laundry and cleaning the house. I've not unpacked the non-clothes yet, but it's nice to have laundry buzzing along.

The other thing I try hard to do with longer trips is to tidy my bedroom as much as possible before I go. I naturally fall into packing-hurricane-mode so making my room not look like I've been burgalized means a _much_ nicer return. This trip I even made sure to have clean sheets and a fully made bed, which was very good to fall into!
