Date: 2025-05-21 10:50 am (UTC)The advice blog Captain Awkward has a rule named after a regular commenter that boils down to "if you knew nothing was going to change about the situation, how much longer would you want to be in it". It's mostly applicable towards relationships and work situations, and designed to make people think about when they should leave those situations. It feels adjacent here, where you do have a due date...but also an observation that if things keep being REALLY shitty you'll get out sooner.
