canyonwalkerI've written before that one of the unofficial signs of the changing of the seasons is when it's cool enough that I choose to wear pants— not for fashion's sake but for warmth. That milestone arrived Saturday night when we went out to eat at a favorite local restaurant with a large outdoor dining area. It was getting cool outside as the sun went down so I changed into long pants. I also wore a sweater— and I'm glad I did! It felt downright chilly after dark.
Weather patterns being what they are, this was part of a brief cool snap. It was cooler than normal from Thursday through Saturday. Today it was warmer again— surprisingly so. Based on the forecast in the morning calling for a high of barely 70° I dressed in long pants to meet friends for lunch today. By the time noon rolled around it was already several degrees warmer than predicted. Tuesday's forecast calls for highs over 90.
The next milestone is it turning cool enough that I switch on the heater in the house. With warmer weather on tap for the coming week it'll be a while yet before that happens.
