Oof, It's Hot!

canyonwalkerWe've had a surprising hot streak out here in California this week. Originally it looked like yesterday was going to the hottest of a few days in a row, with high temps in the upper 90s here in Sunnyvale, but then the weather shifted a bit. Today got even hotter with a high locally of 101° (38° C). In some places around the Bay Area it was even hotter. San Jose registered 103°, Livermore 105°. San Francisco hit a mere 89° today... after seeing a record 93° earlier this week. BTW, 93 in SF is about 25 degrees above normal.
I've been happy to stay indoors with the AC running the past few days. "But what about #PoolLife?" you might wonder. Well, I kind of got out of the habit of it with weather running cooler through much of August and September. This October heat wave has come as a surprise. I did carve out some time Monday afternoon to do laps in the pool then soak in the hot tub. But Tuesday and today I just felt too drained in the afternoon to want to go out for exercise. Maybe I'll get back to Pool Life on Friday, when it's supposed to cool down to a high of just 92° here.
