Home from Maine - Only 12 Hours Late

Back Home - Tuesday, 22 Jun 2021, 12pm.
I walked through my front door just before 11am today. That's only 12 hours later than I was supposed to return. I was delayed by flight delays, rebookings, cancellations, and more rebookings while trying to leave Portland, Maine yesterday. Ultimately I got out by making an expensive, late-night drive to Boston and flying home from there this morning. By the time the flight took off I had been up for nearly 24 hours. I got maybe 3 hours of sleep on the flight and now here I am back at work for the rest of the week.
This travel ordeal reminds me a bit of my period of monthly overseas work travel several years ago. By that I mean the routine of being up for 24 hours and then getting maybe 3 hours of sleep before starting a busy workweek. This should have been an easy trip; it was merely coast-to-coast domestic!
Now back to catching up on my travelog backlog. I left off standing at the foot of Mt. Katahdin with a few more days of hiking and sightseeing left to go!
