In my previous entry I quipped that the answer to "Are we there yet?" when in beauty I walk is, "We have been there the whole time." So it was on the trail to Ruby Lake more than 2 miles from the Mosquito Flat. With even the trailhead at just over 10,000' you know it's going to be beautiful all the way. But even "there" has a there to it, and here that there was Ruby Lake.

Ruby Lake sits at an elevation just over 11,100'. That wall behind it, part of the Mono Divide, rises to almost 13,000'.

There's only one tiny thing wrong with this scene.... WTF looked at this emerald green gem set amid bare granite high in the mountains and thought, "I'll call it Ruby Lake!"
Even the colorblind walk in beauty.
