We are back home from Australia. It was an amazing trip, but it still feels good— as always— to be back home.
No, we didn't bail out of Australia after hiking Carrington Falls. While that's my most recent blog, my blogging on this adventurous trip is running behind— also as always. 😂 That blog is backlogged from Wednesday. I still have four more days of blogs, at least a dozen entries, in the hopper. Plus a bunch of New Year related posts I've been drafting. I expect I'm going to be busy blogging for at least another week.
I mentioned before our decision to come home today, Sunday, when Monday, New Year's Day, is still a holiday from work. Why not extend our vacation another day since we already have it off? Well, aside from the fact Hawk does have to log in and do an hour or two of work tomorrow, our main reason for coming home today is to have tomorrow to relax and unwind from our trip before returning to work as usual. And right now, after just 45 minutes or so of being home, I can tell already that's a wise idea. We are beat. Having a day of (mostly) nothing in between will help us transition back.
Edit: This is journal entry number forty-nine (noted above) in my Australia series. Wow, I didn't expect it to grow that large!
