Afoot in Los Angeles

I'm in Los Angeles for about 24 hours on a quick business trip. I'm here to meet a customer over dinner tonight and then join him for a working meeting tomorrow at his office.
Travel down to LA from Silicon Valley early afternoon today was pretty easy. My 1:55pm flight out of SJC left on time— wow, what a rarity! And it was full, too.
"Easy" continued to define the trip as I arrived at LAX and headed to my hotel. I purposefully booked a hotel I could walk to.
It took me all of 11 minutes from the door at the bottom of the escalators at the airport to the front door at reception at the hotel.

This is a photo (above) I snapped on the walk. My hotel is the 3rd one on the row, not the first.
Note, this isn't a walk for everybody. I planned it partly because I knew I'd be landing at LAX Terminal 1, where Southwest Airlines has its operations. T1 is the closest to hotels on the north side (westbound traffic side) of Century Blvd. The walk is slightly longer at T2, definitely longer at T3, and starts to get a bit complicated beyond that. And if you don't pick one of the closer hotels, or you pick on the wrong side of Century Blvd., you're in for a longer walk. Plus, the walk is... adventurous... if you're not accustomed to urban sidewalks. I passed at least two people sleeping on the sidewalk in my short trek.

I'm now relaxing in my room at the Homewood Suites hotel. I did about 90 minutes of work when I first arrived; now I'm stretching out to rest before meeting a colleague at 5:30pm to prepare for our dinner meeting.
How about that view, hmm? A sunny Southern California view?

LOLWUT, you expected a beach? Haha, those hotels are way more expensive. This is Los Angeles, fam. Construction, traffic, and smog are your normal companions.
Oh, but I have a corner suite. That means I have another view, too. Not that it's way better....

But hey, it's a comfortable room, it's nicely sized, and I was able to get here from the airport without dealing with ANY of LA's notorious traffic.
