My Back Hurts. I Went Hiking Anyway.

canyonwalkerFor this weekend I had good news and bad news. First, the bad news. My back started hurting on Monday or Tuesday this past week. It was weird because I didn't do anything the day before that would've overtaxed it; nor did I so much as sleep wrong the night before. I hoped it would go away within a day or two, but it didn't. It's the type of pain I've had before from a mildly pinched nerve. The pain carried right up through this weekend, jeopardizing my goal of going hiking both days again like the last several weekends in a row.
Now the good news. I said, "Fuck it," to my back pain and went hiking anyway. Saturday we went hiking at Mt. Diablo. Sunday we hiked part of the Stevens Creek Trail near home. I've been taking OTC pain pills every 4-6 hours. They've blunted part of the pain; I simply played through the rest of the pain.
In beauty I walk. Even when it fucking hurts.
