canyonwalker: Sullivan, a male golden eagle at UC Davis Raptor Center (Golden Eagle)
Hawk had her visit with a specialist today after maybe breaking her toe on Tuesday. The result: the doc says it's actually not broken. The swelling and discoloration are a result of blood vessels bursting from jamming it really hard. While that sounds a bit gory it's good news compared to having a broken bone. Swelling will heal much faster than a fracture, and walking on it does not risk worsening a fracture. Even more importantly it means we don't need to cancel the week of hiking and outdoors sightseeing we have planned in 10 days.

canyonwalker: Message in a bottle (blogging)
I keep track of how often I blog. Recently I decided to put this information in a spreadsheet. Keeping it in a spreadsheet means, among other things, graphs are fun and easy. Here's my daily posting frequency since the start of 2019:

Average Blog Posts Per Day, Jan 2019 - May 2021

I track this information partly for pure curiosity and partly because I set a goal a few years ago of writing at least once a day. While I don't write every day— in most months I miss two or three days— the chart shows that I've averaged at least one entry a day during 28 of the past 29 months. In addition, I met my stretch goal of 1.5+ entries per day more than half the time. My monthly average of 47.3 is above 1.5/day.
