Daylight Saving Time Again
Mar. 8th, 2026 02:29 pmIt's Daylight Saving Time again. Clocks sprang ahead an hour this morning at 2am.
I always appreciate the extra hour of sunlight added in the afternoon/evening. It means it's not getting dark by the end of my workday. ...Though my workdays are a thing of the past now that I'm retired!
And, of course, it's just as sunrise and sunset times were becoming reasonable that the clock change hits. Yesterday sunrise was at 6:28am, well before I wanted to get up anyway, and sunset was at a not-depressive 6:08pm. I mean, it's not wonderful but it's better than the depths of December when the sun sets before 5pm and it feels like midnight by 7:00. Now sunset is after 7pm. I'm going to have to get used to eating dinner before dark... and also enjoying a drink on the balcony watching the sun set after dinner.
