Actress Angela Lansbury passed away today. She was 96. The star of many stage, film, and TV productions is perhaps best known to people my age as lead character Jessica Fletcher in Murder, She Wrote. The weekly TV series about a polite but shrewd novelist with a penchant for being in the right place at the wrong time ran for 12 seasons from 1984 to 1996, totaling 264 episodes. It was one of the most popular shows on TV in that era, and Lansbury was nominated for 12 Emmy and 10 Golden Globe awards.
