canyonwalkerThere've been articles in my newsfeed the past few days about the SF Bay Area getting a cold snap. While I was traveling in Las Vegas this week the news seemed far away. I flipped open my weather app a few times and it didn't look like temps back home were out of the ordinary. Then when I landed at SJC last night and walked out of the airport terminal I saw everyone exhaling steam clouds in the chilly evening air. Seeing people's breath in December is normal in some parts of the country, but here it's remarkable.
The temperature was 41° (5° C) last night at 11pm when I was at the airport. It got down to about freezing overnight. There was frost on the ground in some places. When I went out for lunch today it was only 41° again. That's awfully cold for daytime here. It's getting warmer this afternoon, and over the next few days temps are climbing back to normal. I'm glad I mostly missed the cold snap here.
