Enough with the crummy weather already!

When we returned home from our vacation Sunday night we knew the weather here wasn't going to be like the weather we left in Phoenix, where it was sunny every day with high around 100. But we did expect to come home to seasonable weather. It's May now. Our weather should be reliably warm and sunny. Instead of May weather we're still getting February's, with gray skies, occasional rain, and temps barely breaking 60. It's May 4th, dammit, not February 93rd!

The forecast shows the crummy weather persisting through most of next week. We've canceled the trip we planned this weekend. The weather won't be nice enough to enjoy it properly. We were going to see the superbloom south of here.... the flowers literally won't be open in the cooler, damp weather. 😡

I ought to look up historical records for Boston weather, because it's been low-to-mid 40s and grey/rainy _all damn week_ and I am miserable about it. I was whining about it to a coworker, and she retorted "well you're from Maryland" and now I'm all "oh shit, is my calibration off?" I don't _think_ it is, I think this is objectively shit for Boston May, but blah.

Sub-60 in California in May might be worse. I'm just hoping for nice weather in Tahoe in July (I'll be out that way for a wedding).

Weather Underground, https://www.wunderground.com/weather/KBOS, says that the average high in Boston on May 4 is 63°, versus Thursday's actual high of 50. Likewise the historical average high in my city is 73, versus 61 today. It's a very useful site when planning trips... or grousing about undeserved weather.

The weather in Tahoe in July should be nice. It could be intense with full sun mid-afternoon, like temps in the 90s, but it cools off to around 60 (or lower) late at night. Bring at least a light jacket or sweater. I've been up there in June and seen temps in the 30s late at night.
