Another Year Older

It's my birthday this week and I... don't care.

I'm just not feeling it this week.

I'm in a funk this week. This funk is, ironically, not related to age. It's about a few other things that are going on right now, all job related.

The funk is making it hard for me to find enjoyment in things. Go out for a nice, celebratory dinner? Ugh. I don't want a big, fancy dinner. Just give me simple, quiet comfort food.

The time for a big party will come in a few weeks, anyway. The past several years Hawk and I have a joint birthday celebration in early January. A few weeks after the new year there will be food and music and drinks and friends.

I'm bummed I'll probably miss your combined bday parties.

Can't say anything about the job (except maybe see if you can "call in rich"?) but for the age thing: Remember that I'll always be older than you!!

I'm not quite coming down with a case of affluenza yet, so it'll be a bit longer before I call in rich. But soon, I hope.

I feel you on job-funk. I know part of my problem is that we're ~this close~ to winter break, so everyone is just bouncing off the walls trying to get there, but it's been a longer exhaustion than that.

I hope you can find the peace you desire for your birthday though! <3
