canyonwalker: Cheers! (wine tasting)

I mentioned Friday night that part of my (sparse) plans for this weekend were to do a bit of shopping. That included one of my favorite kinds of shopping: shopping for booze! Between a Costco run yesterday (where we also bought lots of non-booze stuff) and a visit to Total Wine today I hauled in these 9 bottles:

Booze buying (Jul 2021)

That big vodka bottle at the back came from Costco, the rest I bought at Total Wine.

That vodka bottle is big. It may not look so big at the back of the lineup above, so here's me holding it up in my hand.

This bottle of vodka is BIG! [Jul 2021]

This monstrosity is just a 1.75L portion. The style of the bottle makes it look bigger than it is. I've bought 1.75L bottles before without feeling so... worried about my liver 😂. Alas it's the only size Costco sells, and I've wanted to try their French style vodka for years. So here we are. At least it's inexpensive (part of the point of buying the Costco big bottle!) so If I don't like it I won't feel bad about throwing it away. Or maybe I'll just take a few almost-full bottles of liquor I haven't cared for and donate them to the homeless.

I like Salice Salentino a lot for cooking with red wine.
