A month ago I wrote that we decided to cancel our Costco Executive Membership (and drop back down to general membership). The issue was that we hadn't bought enough at the store to make the $60 premium worthwhile. But oh, how a month can change things!

After two purchases totaling $900 earlier this month we spent another $500 on a shopping trip this past weekend! As with the previous purchases, there was no big-ticket item driving the cost. Instead it was lots of small things we were buying, specifically large quantities of a few items we like that aren't in stock year round.
Together these purchases put our estimated rebate well enough past the $60 breakeven to make Executive membership worthwhile. We'll reevaluate again in 12 months, of course.
